Finding Scholarships

Career Development Grants provide funding to women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or reenter the workforce. Primary consideration is given to women of color and women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional fields. Application cycle opens annually from August 1 - December 15. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents whose last degree was received before June 30, 2013. Funds are available for tuition, fees, books, supplies, local transportation, and dependent care.

For full-time undergraduate (Sophomore standing or higher) or part- or full-time graduate students.
◾Applicant must have a disability as defined by the American with Disabilities Act, and must provide documentation to verify this.
◾Preference will be given to students majoring in public health, disability studies, health promotion or a field related to disability and health.
◾Preference will be given to students with a history of community service and/or volunteer activities.
◾Applicant must be a US citizen or legal resident living in the United States and enrolled in an accredited United States university.
Due to the health pandemic caused by Covid-19, the AAHD Scholarship Program was suspended temporarily. We are pleased to announce that Scholarship Program 2022 will resume on September 1, 2021.
