Once you have decided on a topic, it is time to begin your search for scholarly sources. Important aspects of the searching process include:

  • Knowing where to search
  • Using keywords
  • Narrowing your search

General Tips:

  • Try multiple keywords and combinations
  • Do more than one search
  • You may change your focus based on your research findings
  • Determine your information needs (ex. primary or secondary sources? peer-reviewed? case studies? news articles? etc. )
