The Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom internet browser that locks down the testing environment to prevent digital cheating on online tests, quizzes, and assessments. If a test requires LockDown Browser, you will not be able to take the test with a standard web browser. LockDown Browser is compatible with computers (Windows and Mac), iPads, and Chromebooks.

Respondus Monitor is a feature of LockDown Browser that uses students' webcams to record the assessment session. This enables online exams to be taken in remote, non-proctored environments while deterring students from accessing other resources during exams, such as other devices or materials. This also ensures the right student is taking the exam, and that they're not getting help from others.
