Content: EBSCO’s nursing database covering biomedicine, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health, and allied health disciplines.
Purpose: Database for research in nursing, medicine, and consumer health.
Special Features: Strong qualitative studies. Filter studies by nurse as author, evidence-based practice, and type of study. Includes MESH indexing, PICO search functionality, text-to-speech feature for some articles, and a tool for discovering citing articles.
Quick Lessons (QL) are clinically organized nursing overviews, with information mapped to the nursing workflow (i.e. description/etiology, signs and symptoms, assessment, treatment goals, red flags, what to tell the patient/patient’s family).
While the Quick Lessons are written, edited, and reviewed by RNs, they are published by CINAHL Information Systems, so they are not considered journal articles. Use these for background information and helpful references.
To access the Quick Lessons, go to CINAHL, and select Quick Lessons.
On the Quick Lessons screen, you can either browse for a topic alphabetically, or search for a topic using the search box. View the Quick Lessons by checking one or more topic checkboxes, and then clicking Search at the top of the list:
