Interesting Features

  • UpToDate recognizes most abbreviations, synonyms, and acronyms.
  • Automatically searches across specialties. 
  • Drug information automatically links to Lexi-Comp.
  • Capitalization is not necessary.
  • Cannot search by author, journal title, or year.
  • Search phrase can consist of one or more terms.
  • Be specific when necessary.

Your results will display in order of relevance based on your search terms.

On the top of the results screen, you can prioritize your results by Adult, Pediatric, or Patient:

Select Graphics to view diagnostic images, figures, forms, movies, pictures, tables, etc.

UpToDate offers a number of useful calculators associated to different medical specialties, including cardiology, pediatrics, and surgery. To access, select the "Calculators" tab on top of the screen.
