Adrienne Mantegna - English/Writing Tutor

I have worked with writers for my entire professional career. Before becoming a writing teacher and coach, I was an editor at a national magazine for almost a decade, assisting budding writers with their craft. For the past thirteen years, I have worked at both the high-school and university levels, helping students in all disciplines, from the humanities to the sciences to business, turn their ideas into words that work. I believe that writing isn’t a talent but a process. I love the process, every step of it, and am here to help you through it.

Elizabeth Brown - English/Writing Tutor | Study Skills

I've been employed with Goodwin since 2017 as a Professional Tutor and English Adjunct. I also teach as an adjunct at Asnuntuck Community College.  It is rewarding beyond words to help others grow as writers and find their voice and style and the right words to convey their message. I like to form a collaborative relationship with students, which includes open dialogue and a free flow of ideas. I'm sensitive to the needs of all writers at various levels of development, realizing that confidence is at the core of the writing process.  For instance, the apprehensive or wary writer is more apt to produce awkward, stilted writing. Much of this reluctance comes from past negative experiences related to writing, or not enough practice or opportunities to write.  Even for those who don't prefer writing, I am witness to many students' successes and newfound confidence. I look forward to working with you!
